The women's group that produces our recycled banana and silk recycled yarn is made up of primarily Tibetan refugees in their 30's, 40's,
50s, and 60s. These women hand roll and hand spin silk sari remnants to earn a
living wage to support their extended families. Most work from home. Several Nepalese women and
Indian women also work in the collective. The women who knit many of
our items, including the scarves, hats, mittens, etc. are in their 20's
through 40's. |
